As an architect, I approach the art of handcrafted furniture by creating elegant, contemporary forms enriched with patterns or textures inspired by the timeless tradition of oriental carpets, fine fabrics and rich mosaics.

Working with both familiar and exotic woods, I hand cut my own veneers from solid stock and meticulously apply them with inlay, marquetry and tunbridge techniques to achieve complex geometric designs. It is significant to me that this use of small pieces allows me to conserve rare woods while still displaying their amazing natural beauty.

Because Nature has given us a rich palette of wood colors that improve and mellow with time, I take pride in finishing all my pieces naturally, using no stains, tints or dyes. As a result, you see in my work the true colors that Nature has made and that I have respected. Occasionally, to enrich my designs, I add accents of semi-precious stone or metal.

In all my pieces I try to emphasize the beauty of natural materials and honor the art of craftsmanship. I hope you enjoy my work.
